Lots of places to visit, including Murcia city, the ancient town of Cartagena, lots of lovely beaches, shops, restaurants and night life along the beautiful Mar Menor, great cycling and walking, Los Alcazares, San Pedro del Pinatar, diving at the lovely village of Cabo de Palos, daily markets at different villages, and nearest town of Sucina is approx 10 mins drive away.

The coastline of Murcia is characterised by its sandy beaches. The most beautiful natural wonder on the coast is the Mar Menor. It is a shallow lagoon, which is the largest of its kind in Spain. The water in the lagoon is very salty and maintains a hot temperature (5ºC above the average Mediterranean temperature). This watery setting, combined with the facilities at its marina, means you can do a great many sports, such as sailing, scuba diving or windsurfing or you just sit and watch from the many cafes and bars dotted along the edge of the Mar Menor.

The Terra Natura Theme Park in Murcia covers 13,000 square metres of safari park and water park. The zoo is very well laid out with a path that runs around the whole reserve. The Water Park with 6 water slides, a slow river and several shallow pools with climbing frames and slides is very popular with children of all ages. www.terranatura.com

Terra Mitica Park... This fabulous theme park is a really fun day out for all the family. The park is divided into four very different sections. Hold tight on roller coasters which turn 360 degrees, and get wet in ancient Egypt on calm and tranquil boat rides. Smaller kids will have a fantastic day too, as there are plenty of rides for the little ones that bigger folk can’t do. www.terramiticapark.com

Rio Safari... In the summer time don't forget to take your swimming gear (no not to join the crocodiles!), there is a large swimming pool with slides which is free for visitors. Refreshments and food are available but it is definitely more fun to take a picnic - don't forget to take some extra carrots and a bag or two of monkey nuts as feeding the animals is allowed here and in fact encouraged - the kids will love it!
